# Where Is the Claim Code on an Amazon Gift Card?

> Find the Amazon gift card claim code: on physical cards, scratch the strip on the back; on e-gift cards, check your email or text message.

On a **physical card**, the claim code is on the back under a silver scratch-off strip. On an **e-gift card**, the claim code is in the email or text message you received.

## Physical gift card

**1. Turn the card over**

Look at the back side.

**2. Find the silver strip**

The code is hidden under it.

**3. Scratch gently**

Use a coin or fingernail. Do not scratch too hard.

**4. Read the code**

It is a mix of letters and numbers.

## E-gift card (email or text)

**1. Open the gift message**

Check your email inbox, spam folder, or text messages.

**2. Find the claim code**

It is shown clearly in the message.

**3. Copy the code**

Paste it on **amazon.com/redeem**.

## Printed or receipt gift card

* Look for the label **Claim Code** on the printout or receipt.
* Do not confuse it with the card number or barcode number.
