# Amazon Gift Card Not Working? Simple Fixes

Most redeem errors come from a typo, using the wrong Amazon country store, or a code that was already redeemed. Re-enter the code carefully, confirm the card matches your store, and check your balance before contacting Amazon.

## Fix it step by step

**1. Re-type the code**

Check similar characters like 0 and O, or 1 and I.

**2. Remove extra spaces**

Delete any spaces before or after the code.

**3. Check the Amazon store**

An Amazon.com card works only on Amazon.com, not other country stores.

**4. Check your balance**

The card may already be redeemed. See [Check your balance](https://amazonhelphub.mintlify.site/check-gift-card-balance.md).

**5. Confirm activation**

Store-bought cards must be activated at purchase. Keep your receipt.

**6. Wait and try again**

Too many attempts can cause a temporary block. Try later.

**7. Contact Amazon**

Still stuck? Use customer service on the official Amazon website. Have your card and receipt ready.
