# Can You Redeem a Visa Gift Card on Amazon.com/redeem?

> Visa and other prepaid cards are not redeemed at Amazon.com/redeem. Add them as a payment card in your Amazon wallet instead. Simple steps.

No. **Amazon.com/redeem** is only for Amazon gift card claim codes. A Visa, Mastercard, or other prepaid gift card is added as a **payment card** in your Amazon account, just like a debit or credit card.

## Add a Visa gift card to Amazon

**1. Register the card if required**

Some prepaid cards need your name and ZIP code registered on the card issuer's website.

**2. Sign in to amazon.com**

Go to **Your Account**.

**3. Open Your Payments**

Select **Add a payment method**.

**4. Add a credit or debit card**

Enter the card number, name, and expiry date.

**5. Use it at checkout**

Choose the card on the payment step.

## Good to know

* If the order is more than the card's balance, it may be declined. Split payment options can vary.
* Check your prepaid card balance with the card issuer, not Amazon.
