Only redeem gift cards on the real amazon.com/redeem page. Never share your claim code, and never pay anyone with gift cards for taxes, bills, fines, tech support, or prizes. Anyone who asks for that is a scammer.

Stay safe step by step

1

Type the address yourself

Go to amazon.com/redeem directly. Skip links in messages.
2

Keep your code private

Treat the claim code like cash.
3

Ignore payment demands

Real companies and government offices do not ask for gift card payments.
4

Do not trust urgent calls

Scammers create panic. Hang up and verify on your own.
5

Report scams

Report to Amazon through its official website and to your local consumer protection agency. In the US, report at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
